Greetings! Welcome to the dramaturgy site for all for One productions. There is always so much we’d like to tell you about our current show, that we decided to load it all here. You can read as much or as little as you want. We will try to post the background research on each show in “small bites” and well in advance, so that you can absorb a bit at a time.
Each show title has its own “category” in the left margin. Just click on a play title to read ALL the posts about that show. (In the case of our recent season opener, which was two one-acts, some posts fall into both categories.) You can easily search our archives to read all about one particular show.
So what will you find here?
- Basic historical background or author bios
- Extra research about some aspect of the play’s time period or subject matter
- Insights into why we are staging a play a certain way
- Anything else we think is interesting! Could be period photos or artwork, links to other sites, rehearsal photos–who knows?
Our audiences have said they appreciate the background information in the program. It is often frustrating for us to try to squeeze in as much as we’d like in that limited space. This is our solution! We hope you’ll let us know what you think!
P.S. On the sidebar to the left, you can subscribe to this blog by email, and you’ll be notified whenever there’s a new post!
